The co-creator of Call of Duty, who helped create the immensely successful video game Call of Duty, has died in a traffic collision in the state of California he was 55 years old.

Zampella's death was verified by Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn Entertainment, a game studio he co-founded.

The influential industry figure passed away following his car crashed and burst into flames on a motorway in LA on this past Sunday, as reported by.

"We are facing a devastating loss, and we stand with his family and friends, those closest to him, and all those touched by his creative vision," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts commented.
