The Grisly Cartoon Movie Conclusion That Lingers Audiences

Among every mature cartoon movies I’ve personally viewed, nothing has stuck with me quite like the fear-filled ending of the explicitly bloody as well as overwhelingly transgressive 2022 movie Unicorn Wars.

Back in 2015’s, the Spain-based filmmaker developed a grim, somber , often savage universe that included some tiny , desolate hints of hope.

Although Unicorn Wars feels like it stemmed from an impulse to expand the medium further, the filmmaker clarified that it was rather a try to express a universal, cross-cultural theme about “the mutual source of all wars.”

That message is communicated via a squad of brightly hued teddy bears , obviously inspired by a well-known series of cuddly figures.

Being raised in a society built around aggression and the defense industry, many of these creatures are obsessed with slaughtering the mythical beasts, due to a holy book that tells the bears they used to be kings of the woods, before the unicorns expelled them.

Some did not entirely bought into the propaganda, , would rather sample narcotics and fornicate in the forest.

In contrast to their friendly counterparts, these vivid animals have visible genitals and obvious sex drives.

For one especially vicious, skeptical animal, Bluey, the battle with unicorns turns into a path to control — and particularly to authority over his more tender, kinder brother the bear Tubby.

This bear behaves aggressively and an apparent antisocial figure , and when fear takes over his squad and kills his teammates sequentially, he seizes increasingly power for himself, through ever more violent, damaging approaches.

Meanwhile, the unicorns are experiencing their own horror, through an expanding, harmful creature in their forest.

“Initially, it appears as a comedy,” the director said. “But then it turns into a more intense and sorrowful movie. And by the end, it becomes a horror film.”

Unicorn Wars begins resembling among the whimsical features from an iconic filmmaker, which find a naughty glee in letting cartoon characters curse, fire weapons, or sex each other up.

Subsequently it becomes closer to a more grim work from that creator, including ever more graphic violence and a noticeable connection to the real horror of battle.

By the end, it is an outright Grand Guignol carnage.

The terror that turns the film an ideal spooky-season viewing kicks in well before than one might expect.

Unicorn Wars is ideal for the most dedicated lovers of violence, for lovers of extreme cinema who desire to watch something they have not watched previously, and can endure a plot which delivers no restraint.

View it in a dark room without any distractions, and the conclusion will crawl into your mind and stay with you.
