President Trump Calls Families of Shot National Guard Personnel to White House

Former President Trump revealed on the weekend that he has invited the loved ones of a Guard member killed last week to attend the executive mansion.

He mentioned that he contacted her parents and they were “heartbroken”.

Background on the Tragic Incident

Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, 20, was lost her life in a shooting on last Wednesday in DC.

Her colleague, Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, remains hospitalized in serious condition.

Vigils across the state have taken place in their honor.

Presidential Offer

The president said he’s discussed a visit to the White House for the families of both individuals of the state National Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a difficult moment, arrive at the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to Sarah,” Trump told journalists. “And in the same way with Andrew, whether he recovers or not.”

Public Response

Attendees assembled over the past few days at a local school in West Virginia to honor Beckstrom.

Both they had been fulfilling duties with the West Virginia National Guard as part of the president’s national effort to assist policing efforts in Washington DC.

Paying Tribute to Beckstrom

“She was the type of pupil that teachers wished for. She carried herself with inner fortitude, a contagious smile and a upbeat demeanor that encouraged those around her,” the principal, the principal of Beckstrom’s previous school, informed the press. “She was caring, considerate and always eager to help others.”

Memorial details for Beckstrom are in the process of planning.

Legal Actions and Policy Revisions

Authorities have indicted a 29-year-old suspect with a charge of homicide and two counts of assault with intent to kill while armed.

The tragedy prompted the administration to halt refugee claims and cease providing entry permits to holders of Afghan passports.

Condition of Andrew Wolfe

Wolfe, a resident of the city, began his service in 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of his local high school, as reported by the AP.

He remains under medical supervision and is “fighting for his life”, West Virginia governor the governor said on a news program.

Attorney general Pam Bondi informed Fox News Sunday that she aimed to visit the family.

Impact of Sarah Beckstrom

Sarah, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County High in 2023 and began her service not long after, working as a military police officer with excellence, as stated by the state guard.

“She had a lot of kindness and she absolutely had fortitude,” he addressed the crowd at the memorial. “Though her time lasted far too short, she has created a legacy that’s going to endure.”
