Netflix Chooses Ideal Actor for Bon Clay in One Piece Third Season
Baroque Works is geared up to play a huge role in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, although the true confrontation won’t take place until the next season, and a beloved, popular member has now been chosen.
Netflix announced this week that the skilled actor is now part of the One Piece season 3 cast and will embody Bentham. This character possesses the power to morph into an perfect replica of anyone they’ve laid a hand on with their main hand. Escola, who is identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, will play a interpretation of that role reimagined as non-binary identifying, rather than as a drag queen, in the real-life adaptation, differing from the initial comic and cartoon version.
The new cast member joins a number of new cast members tasked with bringing the group to life, such as chief Mr. 0, portrayed by the well-known actor, an emerging star as Miss Goldenweek, and a familiar face, who is also part of the lineup as the monarch of the fictional land.
Even though Bon Clay is a major member of the group, the persona won’t appear until One Piece the third season. With the next season expected to adapt the Little Garden arc, this signals a significant shift in the timing of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could indicate additional alterations to the story’s structure.
Their mix of precise humor and emotional depth makes them a perfect fit for the role. Besides their latest vocal work in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and several accolades for creating and performing in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, highlighting the range they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s most celebrated roles.
The platform’s adapted One Piece program is set to return for its second season on March 10, 2026.
