Former Physician Accused of Assault Charges Against Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors have stated that a former physician stands accused of carrying out sexual assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were patients.
The Grave Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous acts of sexual assault – some of which involve some against children younger than 13 – between 2017 and 2021.
A deputy chief prosecutor said, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
Scope of the Police Inquiry
The charges follow what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.

Prosecutors said the forty-five charges he is charged with:
- 15 counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- One count of attempted penetrative assault.
