Bills' Bay Day Opens Patriots Path to AFC East Lead - Best of NFL Week 10

Week 10 once more provided excitement, with a major surprise for the Buffalo Bills proving the 'any given Sunday' saying that attracts so many people into the NFL
This outcome could have created things up for the New England Patriots to creep back into a top spot they used to occupy, with a schedule that provides them an advantage over their eight and two competitors
Over in the National Football Conference the Seattle Seahawks and Rams had perfect results to arrange a major confrontation next week, while our player of the week is chasing records as well as the Most Valuable Player award
The Breakdown - Simply an Off Day for the Bills?
Was it just an emotional letdown from beating the Chiefs last week or a deeper issue? This remains the question for the Bills to address
The Bills had secured seven victories in a row against the Dolphins but were outperformed from the beginning as the Miami team ran out 30-13 victors in an eye-opening outcome - and display
MVP quarterback Josh Allen only achieved the team's opening first down in the third quarter and initial scoring in the fourth - admittedly Miami had 10 days to prepare but it was still a massive egg laid by one of the league's top offences
Dolphins quarterback Tua passed for two touchdowns but running back Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 combined yards and two touchdowns
Bottling up the league's best running game was crucial too, with Cook and company registering just 86 yards, their fewest of the season and slightly more than fifty percent their 161.5 yard average
Additionally there were the three critical ball losses, and the two from Allen in particular. An interception in the scoring area resulting in a nine-minute drive produced nothing, and his fourth-quarter fumble that the Dolphins converted to seven points just two plays
It was classic 'old Buffalo' as they shot themselves in the foot, falling into a hole on defensive side and Allen attempting to overcompensate to rescue his squad out of it - not the calm, controlled, balanced Buffalo team we've seen this year
The Dolphins have demonstrated a bit of everything this year so the jury's out on whether this is the start of a trend, but for Buffalo they'll require an immediate bounce-back in a difficult matchup against the Buccaneers in week 11 as the Patriots are quietly moving into a nice lead at the top of the AFC East
Spotlight - New England See Path to Surprise Top Seed
Regarding the New England, they're among three different 8-2 squads in the NFL, all AFC sides, but could they be the best?
One could pick holes in the Patriots, the Broncos and the Colts really for feasting on the lesser sides, with only five of their combined 24 victories coming against opponents with a positive record - and one of those was the Colts beating the Denver
Denver defeated the champion Eagles in Philadelphia and are kings of the fourth-quarter while Indianapolis can rely on Jonathan Taylor, but the New England including Sunday's victory in Tampa to their primtime win in Buffalo appears to be a declaration
Their two defeats came in recently appointed coach Mike Vrabel's initial three contests, with seven consecutive wins, similar to Denver, from that point - but taking down Baker Mayfield after the Buccaneers had a week off to prepare was huge
Drake Maye's Most Valuable Player credentials continue to be discussed, and he certainly deserves point for courage after taking some hard tackles in Tampa but persevering to steer his team to victory
The defensive unit is reliable and first-year rusher TreVeyon Henderson burst onto the scene on game day with 147 rushing yards and two exciting scores of 55 and 69 yards - establishing himself as just the fifth ball carrier to break 22 miles per hour this season on his initial touchdown
Although you can debate who 'the best' is technically, the Pats should be favourites to finish with the best record thanks to their remaining opponents - which includes just a single matchup against a winning team, albeit a significant contest against Buffalo
Traveling to the Ravens is also tough, but the Broncos have it more difficult in the AFC West division with the Kansas City to face two times, the Los Angeles Chargers (who might also challenge for first place but encounter the same problem) and additionally the Green Bay on the fixture list
The Colts also face the Chiefs, and have the Seahawks, San Francisco and two matchups with the 5-4 Jacksonville to face. There is a long way to travel but the door is available for a surprise number one position in the AFC
Coming Up - Rams & Seahawks Set for Week 11 Clash
Both squads with strong arguments to be superior to all of the three eight and two sides are National Football Conference West opponents the Seattle and Rams, who both scored 40 burgers to go to 7-2 before the upcoming Hollywood blockbuster game between the pair in Los Angeles
They've both secured four victories in a row, have signal callers in Stafford and Sam Darnold performing at an high standard (although Darnold had turnover issues on Sunday) with excellent pass catchers, and defenses allowing fewer than twenty points a contest
Each could realistically be without a loss as well - especially the Los Angeles as their two defeats came in extra time against the San Francisco and then that painful defeat in Philadelphia when they had a game-winning kick with the last kick blocked and returned by the Eagles for a score
The Seahawks also lost to the 49ers, with a late touchdown in week one, before losing to the last kick of the game against the Buccaneers - so they're truly among the best sides in the NFL
The upcoming game on Sunday could be the most exciting of the season to date
Top Performer - Taylor
Jonathan Taylor might be on for a record season after his remarkable performance in Berlin - running for 244 rushing yards, registering three touchdowns and contributing an additional forty-two {receiving yards
